The First Gorkhali-Themed Merchandise Brand: The Story of Founder' of Kanchuli
Kanchuli is the first Gorkhali-themed merchandise brand, founded by designer Puspa Chetry from Northeast India. With 8+ years of experience and more than 100 campus design projects, he brings local culture to life through modern merchandise—now delivering across India.

The world of merchandise is evolving—moving beyond simple graphics to storytelling, identity, and culture. In the middle of this shift, a young designer from Northeast India, Puspa Chetry, sparked a movement of his own. What began as a personal passion project has now become India’s first Gorkhali-themed merchandise brand: Kanchuli, exclusively available at the Gogopogo store.
A Designer With 8+ Years of Experience
Puspa’s journey started long before Kanchuli was born. With over 8 years of professional design experience, he has created merchandise for major institutions such as:
IIT Guwahati
NITs
Assam Engineering College (AEC)
Guwahati University
And more than 100+ campus events and festivals across Northeast India.
His skill and understanding of campus culture helped him create designs that students loved—and it also shaped his vision for something more meaningful.
Rooted in the Gorkha Community
Being part of the Gorkha community, Puspa always felt that there was a gap—there was no dedicated merchandise that represented the identity, pride, and culture of Gorkhalis.
In today’s world, merchandise is more than a T-shirt.
It’s a voice, a statement, and a way to spread culture across borders.
This idea struck him deeply.
“If no one is making it, why can’t I?”
And that question became the seed of Kanchuli.
The Beginning With Gogopogo
When Puspa came across Gogopogo, he decided to test the idea.
He started with a beta launch, creating the first few designs inspired by Gorkhali heritage, bravery, and identity.
The response was immediate and overwhelming.
In less than a month, orders started coming from different corners of India.
People finally found merchandise that spoke to them, represented them, and carried their cultural pride.
From a Small Idea to Nationwide Deliveries
Today, Kanchuli has delivered to cities and states across India, expanding far beyond the Northeast. Each design carries a piece of Gorkha heritage—modernized, minimal, and wearable for everyday style.
What makes Kanchuli special is not just the design quality, but the emotional connection it builds.
For many, this is the first time they have seen their culture represented on premium-quality merchandise.
A Movement, Not Just a Brand
Kanchuli is more than a clothing line.
It is:
A celebration of Gorkha identity
A platform for cultural story-telling
A locally crafted brand with global potential
A community-driven creative movement
And it all started with one passionate designer who wanted his culture to be seen, celebrated, and worn proudly.
The Future of Kanchuli
With growing support from the Gorkha community and design lovers across India, Kanchuli is expanding its collections into:
Apparel
Accessories
Stickers
Cultural graphics
Limited-edition festival drops
The mission remains the same:
To make Gorkhali culture visible, stylish, and globally recognized through premium merchandise.
